How to install an Orokin Catalyst

To apply an Orokin Goad, become to the Arsenal and access the desired item'south Mod loadout. Select Action at the bottom of the screen and select Upgrade.

An applied Orokin Catalyst volition double the weapon's mod capacity. For an MR x actor, an unranked weapon with a Goad installed will take a capacity of 20, which will increase to 60 at rank 30. Catalysts can but exist applied once.

Notes [ ]

  • Orokin Catalysts are often referred to by players as 'bluish potatoes' (as opposed to Orokin Reactors, called 'golden potatoes'), or in some cases, simply 'potatoes'. This originated from a curt blitheness called "War friends" on YouTube; this was later tweeted past the Warframe Twitter and referenced by the Devs.[1]
    • The Potato T-shirt available in the official Warframe merchandise store is a reference to this.
    • P.O.T.A.T.O. means "Potent Orokin Technical Augmentation and Tactical Offensive" device, as stated past Darvo during A Man of Few Words.
  • Weapons bought with platinum from the Market come pre-installed with a Catalyst and their own weapon slot.
  • One time applied to a weapon, it cannot be taken off to utilise on some other weapon.
  • Orokin Catalysts/Reactors are non removed subsequently applying a Forma.

Patch History [ ]

Update xxx.5 (2021-07-06)

  • Players tin can now install an Orokin Catalyst / Orokin Reactor onto ungilded Modular items, specifically:
    • Kitguns (Chief + Secondary)

Players who were willing to make the investment into Modular items weren't able to Mod them to their full capacity, which left their new gear feeling very underpowered. So we take removed that restriction!
